Larysa Kucak is a corset designer based in West London, England, with strong connections and extensive training in the fashion industry. Having spent much of her childhood at the knee of her mother who produced haute couture gowns for some of the UK’s most prominent designers in the 1980s and 1990s, attending numerous fashion shows and developing an affinity for textile and design, Larysa studied Applied Arts at university, specializing in stitched textiles, then moved to the prestigious London College of Fashion where she undertook study of womenswear pattern cutting. She also attended Central St. Martins, London, to develop her technical understanding of explorative pattern making for fashion.

Having been employed by various designers and high-end fashion boutiques, Larysa’s dedicated specialism in corsetry developed when she founded her own business in December 2008, and her first large-scale public engagement was an invitation to produce a collection for the BT-UNICEF Charity Ball, in March 2009.

Larysa maintains that a corset is an elegant purchase designed to stand the test of time – the wearer should experience the timeless sophistication and decadence associated with the salons and boudoirs of Paris, London, and New York, and inhabit the timeless silhouettes of movie stars and iconic women throughout history.  Whilst Larysa’s key themes are classical, evoking the Edwardian and Victorian periods of fashion, she firmly believes in experimentation, bringing the corset and her practice as a corsetiere into the twenty-first century. Her use of glitter, leather, lace and contemporary prints derive inspiration from starlets and performers such as Lady Gaga, Dita von Teese and Kylie Minogue, whilst retaining an individuality and elegance all of her own.
